The RS-232 mode is equipped with three drivers and five receivers to support all eight signals (3TX/5Rx) typically used on DB9 serial port connectors. In RS-485 mode, the device has two independent high-speed RS-485/422 transmission and reception channels (2TX/2RX). The default RS-485 configuration is full duplex, but half duplex operation can be achieved by connecting the Tx and RI pins, as well as the TXEN and RXEN signals together. The SP337E pin is compatible with Exar's SP334. The maximum data rate of SP337EB can reach 250kbps in RS-232 mode and 15Mbps in RS-485 mode. The maximum data rate of SP337EU can reach 1kbps in RS-232 mode and 15Mbps in RS-485 mode.
